Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019
Hip-Hip Hooray! Shop the NSale Today! It’s that time of year people. Do your finger stretches, and then let your fingers do the walking. The Sale opens to the public Friday!
The NSale has become a bit of a cultural phenomenon. Every year thousands of people gear up to shop the sale. It is a time period where influencers work tirelessly getting ready to present the options and trends to you. Then, they keep us all up-to-date as items come in and out of stock. All that’s left for the rest of us to do, is shop. When you can shop depends on your status as a Nordstrom card holder. (Non-card members are eligible to shop the last week of the sale.) Up first are the Icon members. There are many perks of being an Icon member, and one of them is that you get first dibs on the NSale (before it even goes “live”). Next comes all the other card holders. This group of people get their pick of items as soon as the sale goes live. (This year I shopped a mere hour after the sale opened up, and several things were already selling out. Twelve hours later, what social media influencers said were the good stuff to get, was pretty much gone.) A week later the sale opens up to the public. It is a shopping frenzy, and if you want a shot at actually getting a specific item on sale, it is important to do your homework (preview the sale and pre-pick what you want) and commit to being a card holder.
I resisted being a card holder for years, and then a Nordstrom opened in The Woodlands, and I still resisted. (I did not need another card to keep up with. My husband and I like to use one credit card to accumulate reward points.) But then one date night we headed to the Nordstrom cafe for dinner and were greeted by a red carpet and a welcoming crew. “Are you card holders,” they cheerfully asked us as we walked up to the doors. Nope. We were not. We were, however, granted entrance to make it to the cafe. But you were not allowed to shop that night unless you were a card holder. Though this night was far from simply shopping. People were there as a couple on a date night and with groups of friends. This was an event of shopping proportions. There were waitresses carrying trays of champagne, wine, and hors d’oeuvres. As well as actual food stations. (The food looked so good!) Y’all it was a sight to take in. Needless to say, after our dinner was complete, we signed up to be a card holder. The party was that good. (It also made sense because I do most of my shopping at Nordstrom.)
So now I can shop the anniversary sale as soon as it goes live. “Woohoo. Good for you, Britt. But come on, is it really worth it,” you ask. If you are looking for something specific or looking to Christmas shop early, than it truly is. There really are great deals to be found and the savings do add up. I will caution you to be wary of getting sucked into the hype. It is so easy to see a popular item that is “on sale” for $100 and feel the need to get it simply because it is “on sale.” Even if you wouldn’t normally spend that amount of money. My advice to you is to go in with a plan. Unless, of course, you aren’t working with a budget. In that case, pick me up a few things too!
I use the NSale to stock up on things for fall as well as to get a few Christmas gifts for the family. I’ll also send some not so subtle hints at birthday gifts. (My birthday is in August. So really I’m doing my family a favor by helping them get a birthday gift on sale. *Cough. Cough*) I’ll link this year’s round up below to offer some inspiration. (Click the picture to shop that item.) Happy shopping!
