A Letter To You

Hi friends, it has been a while since my last post. Before I jumped back in I wanted to take a moment to check in, say hi, and give a sincere thanks to everyone that has stayed on board during my time away from this blog. I also wanted to take a moment to explain the absence of entires for those that have loyally followed along from the beginning as well as those of you who hopped onto this wagon along the way.

Writing is what I do. It is how I best express my thoughts. It is what makes me feel fulfilled. (I hope each of you has that thing that fills you up.) Writing novels is what I enjoy most of all. When my non-updated computer refused to let me upload blog articles without an update that covered the span of several updates (Updates that I somehow missed even though I always clicked yes on the update notification.) I had to choose between my manuscript potentially getting erased and my blog. Skipping right to the end, after looking at the state of my operating system, we chose to not rock the boat and let it ride. Skip further a little more and say hello to my second novel, Forgetting You!

So, novel is out, computer is updated, and I am slowly getting back into this blog world. I have missed you all and so appreciate everyone that has stuck around during the past couple years. Especially these past couple of years. Holy the world actually went poof and up in smoke. As I am writing this letter to you, I sincerely hope it finds you well and that you and your family have come out swinging after this difficult time.

Moving forward, what to expect from me and what this blog will look like…

Truly, I don’t know. A little the same and a little bit different. As time marches on, we are growing and evolving with it. Every new year, challenge, and obstacle we face changes us and shifts the course of our path along with it. For me, I have discovered that when backed into a corner I will come out fighting for those I love. The political atmosphere the last couple years has birthed a stronger fighter than I knew existed in my “I’d prefer to avoid any and all confrontation” personality. For me personally, it has certainly been a past couple years of growth.

Finding my inner fire and learning to defend what I believe in at my core has ignited this courageousness that continues to grow. Once that spark caught flame, it began to spread like a wildfire. Though the initial rocking of the boat had me trying to stomp out the flames, I learned that doing so causes you to choke on the smoke the dying flames create. Moving forward I am learning how to add gasoline to that fire in a more productive way and a less let me word-vomit-all-over-you kind of way. I am still learning. I am still growing. I always said my oldest son’s headstrong, natural leader personality will one day change the world, but I’m starting to wonder if that change can’t start with me.

In the midst of writing my third novel, I came across this phrase that has became a lifeline to that story. Just Today. Two words that resonate with my soul. Just Today. Two words that can mean so much. Just Today. Two words that can inspire, encourage, and give comfort. Wherever you find yourself currently, wherever you find yourself after the last two trying years, know that wherever you are, whatever you are experiencing, it is just for the right here, the right now. Just today. Tomorrow is a new day, and a new moment. The rising sun brings with it the promise of a clean start and the ability to make new choices.

If you find yourself living your best life, embrace it. Enjoy the heck out of it! Live in the moment fully because this too is just for today. Time marches on. We go on. We grow and change with the different seasons and with the passing of time. Go and live your best life. Just Today.

XOXO
